We recently enjoyed a scenic outing from St Winifreds Care Home to the iconic White Cliffs of Dover with three of our wonderful residents – Betty, Tom, and Walter. We set off in glorious sunshine, but as we approached Dover Castle, we watched as it gradually disappeared beneath a thick blanket of fog. Undeterred, we made our way to a lovely café perched on top of the cliffs, hoping the mist would lift.
While enjoying some refreshments, Walter sparked a heartwarming conversation about memories of the cliffs. Our group shared stories of past visits, including sunny walks and peaceful moments spent overlooking the sea.
As the fog began to lift, we stepped outside and were treated to a view of the cross-channel ferries setting off from Dover. We even caught a glimpse of the French coastline across the English Channel! What a memorable day.
