Baking, friendships, and making memories at St Winifreds Care Home

There’s always something to enjoy at our Care Home in Deal, whether it’s getting creative in the kitchen, heading out for an adventure, or simply spending time together with friends.

Our Baking Club was a particular highlight this week, as residents worked together to make a batch of delicious homemade biscuits. Everyone got involved, helping to mix the biscuit dough before rolling it out and choosing from a selection of fun shapes to cut out. Once the biscuits were ready, they were handed over to the kitchen team to bake, before everyone enjoyed the finished treats together with a lovely cup of tea. The consensus was clear – nothing tastes better than a biscuit you’ve made yourself!

Activities are also a wonderful way for residents to build friendships and discover shared interests. Clare and Betty have formed a lovely friendship and enjoy spending time together. This week, they headed to the seafront with Chris, enjoying a walk along the pier before stopping at a beach parlour overlooking the sea. The beautiful surroundings provided plenty of opportunities for conversation and reminiscing.

Back at St Winifreds, friendships continue to blossom through the many activities residents enjoy together; from games, singing and painting to crosswords and gardening. Whether cheering each other on during a game, joining in with an activity or simply sharing a chat over a cup of tea, there are plenty of opportunities to connect with others.

It’s wonderful to see residents finding common ground, supporting one another and forming meaningful friendships – helping to create the warm and welcoming sense of community that makes St Winifreds so special.
