Bank holiday weekend fun at St Winifreds Care Home

Monday movie time

On bank holiday Monday our residents at St Winifreds Care Home enjoyed a good old-fashioned movie – ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’.

We screened it in our dark room and served hot chocolates with marshmallows, as well as classic Caramac and dairy milk chocolate treats.

Some of our residents enjoyed time in our garden soaking up the sunlight and enjoying their drinks and treats outside.

We also took our trolley around to all our residents in their rooms to enjoy too.

Milkshakes and ice lollies

And with this lovely weather, we enjoyed an afternoon together in our garden, when we enjoyed a selection of ice lollies and milkshakes. The milkshakes were made with fresh strawberries and ice cream, and bananas and ice cream, homemade by our Deputy Manager Milana. They were very popular!

Everyone enjoyed listening to Glen Miller, reading books, knitting and enjoying our new gazebos in the garden.

Scrabble picture project

Our resident Margaret wanted a project of her own to do, so we organised a creative Scrabble picture for her to complete, with a board and Scrabble letters. Her challenge was to include all our residents’ names in the picture and add new residents when they arrive with us.

Margaret thoroughly enjoyed putting the Scrabble board together and we have displayed it in our lounge for everybody to enjoy.

Her lovely message at the top says ‘A Home full of love. St Winifreds Care Home. Friends. Caring

Well done Margaret!
