This weekend, our lovely resident Joan celebrated three happy years here at St Winifreds Care Home in Deal – a very special milestone. She was delighted when our team visited her with a card, chocolates and a beautiful homemade cake, lovingly baked by our Chef Sue. She was quite overwhelmed with emotion and insisted that we promise to share her cake and chocolates with everyone.
As we placed her card on the wall, just where she wanted it, Joan added a heartfelt message of her own: “I say a big thank you. Every day has been happy and gently looked after. Joan xxx”
Joan is such a cheerful presence in our Home and often tells us how happy she feels here. She enjoys starting her mornings with her daily newspaper, tea and biscuits, and loves spending time with our team, proudly sharing her family photographs and the stories behind them.
She always loves to laugh at our themed dress-up days, happily joins in with games, and enjoys quizzes from the Daily Sparkle magazine.
What a wonderful three years it has been – and we’ve loved every moment with you, Joan.
