Music with Trevor
Last week, on VE Day morning, we celebrated here at St Winifreds Care Home with a wartime singalong with musician Trevor. From ‘The White Cliffs of Dover‘ to ‘Bye Bye Blackbird‘, we sung our hearts out and danced in our chairs.
Our team members dressed in themed outfits which put smiles on all our residents’ faces. Great fun!
Tea party
In the afternoon, we planned a special tea party and didn’t let the cold weather spoil our fun – we just moved everything inside! We had wartime music and decorations galore and enjoyed homemade cupcakes and scones with hot drinks.
All of our communities joined together for singing, laughing and reminiscing – what a social and colourful afternoon. Our residents in their bedrooms didn’t miss out on the celebrations, with visits from our dressed up team members and lovely chats about their experiences of VE Day.
At tea time we all enjoyed a delicious buffet, which ended our amazing day together. Happy 80th VE Day!
