On Thursday 26 June we said a sad goodbye to our lovely Sonya who retired after 19 years working here at St Winifreds Care Home.
Sonya began as a Senior, working tirelessly to train new members of our team. She progressed on to become Deputy Manager and then worked past retirement age, moving her skills to the Catering Team, cooking as well as being a Dining Assistant.
Sonya has been a huge part of St Winifreds, so it was important that we gave her a good send off! Our team members and residents, as well as former colleagues, enjoyed a buffet and cakes, with a gift and card presentation. A big shout out to our Chef James who, knowing Sonya’s love of owls, created delicious owl cupcakes which she absolutely loved.
Sonya is much-loved and will be missed by everyone, but we wish her well and hope she enjoys a rest, plus some of the lovely sunshine we’ve been having!
