Here at our Care Home in Deal we’re celebrating an outstanding achievement after securing a perfect 77 out of 77 in our Gold Standards Framework (GSF) assessment. Our team proudly received the GSF Quality Hallmark Award at the organisation’s Annual Conference and Awards Ceremony in Birmingham on Tuesday 22 September, joining around 400 people from across health and social care in celebrating excellence in end-of-life care.
The Gold Standards Framework is a practical, evidence-based programme focused on driving continuous improvement in care for people in the last years of life. Its approach helps ensure high-quality, personalised care becomes embedded within a Care Home’s culture and everyday practice, with residents and their families supported with dignity, compassion and respect.

We achieved full marks across our assessment, while fellow Nellsar Home Lukestone also scored 77 out of 77. Sonya Lodge and Lulworth House achieved similarly strong results, with Abbotsleigh successfully securing GSF Platinum Status reaccreditation for a further three years.
The five Homes were represented at the Birmingham ceremony, with the event providing a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the hard work and dedication behind the achievements and high standards of care delivered across the group.

Martin Barrett, Managing Director of Nellsar, said: “Our ambition is to deliver a true gold standard of care for every resident, whatever their condition or circumstances. We want every resident to live well in the later stages of life, with care shaped around their individual wishes and what matters most to them.”
Achieving the highest possible assessment score is a very special milestone for St Winifreds and reflects our team’s commitment to making compassionate, personalised end-of-life care part of everyday life at our Home.
Huge congratulations to our team!
