We celebrated Talk Like a Pirate Day here at St Winifreds Care Home with our team members dressed to impress in their pirate costumes.
For fun we played pirate games and had a treasure map – our residents chose a number on the map and if it was the correct one, they won a prize. We also played a dice game where pirates had to roll a dice until they got all six numbers.
Our residents loved seeing our team members dressed up and they had fun trying on hats and eye patches. They also chose their own pirate names to go on an honorary pirate certificate they received.
Residents in their rooms didn’t miss out as we went around our bedrooms with our pirate trolly so they could join in all the fun. We even made some of our team members walk the plank!
