Grand National excitement!
We had a fantastic time celebrating The Grand National on Saturday 11 April here at our Care Home in Deal. The day was filled with quizzes, fun racing facts and plenty of reminiscing – including fond memories of trips to the bookies with our dads!
Our residents thoroughly enjoyed our electronic horse racing game, choosing their favourite colours or numbers and cheering them on enthusiastically, whether gathered in our lounges or joining in from their rooms. The excitement continued as we settled down in the afternoon with a cup of tea to watch the big race together.
Bumper birthday celebrations
Over the last two weeks we have celebrated four beautiful ladies’ birthdays – Cath and Barbara, plus Betty and Mary celebrating on the same day.
Each of our birthday ladies enjoyed a celebration tailored just for them, complete with gifts, cards, heartfelt renditions of ‘Happy birthday‘ and delicious homemade cakes lovingly prepared by our Chefs Sue and James.
Cath enjoyed plenty of tea and quality time with her daughters. Barbara spent special moments with Bess, our Therapy Dog, before enjoying bingo alongside her husband and son. Mary had a little party with her husband and sister. Meanwhile, Betty filled her day with word games, quizzes and crosswords, supported by our team and fellow residents.
Many happy returns to them all – what wonderful ways to spend such special days!
