St Winifreds Care Home celebrates women and staying active

International Women’s Day

We were proud to celebrate International Women’s Day here at St Winifreds Care Home with creativity and appreciation. Our residents enjoyed making beautiful artwork using tissue paper and pens, producing some truly lovely designs.

To mark the occasion, we presented our ladies with handmade purple ribbons created by our Recreation and Well-being Team. Many chose to wear them proudly on their clothing or attach them to their handbags. Everyone agreed they were a thoughtful touch to a meaningful day.

Keeping active

We’re very fortunate at St Winifreds to have strong links within our local Deal community, including the wonderful Taylor Dance Academy, who now visit us monthly for chair-based exercise and dance sessions.

Each class begins with a gentle warm-up to get our arms and legs moving before we enjoy dancing – sometimes even adding maracas and scarves for extra fun! We always finish with a cool-down and a reminder to stay hydrated. Our relatives often join in too, making it a lovely shared experience.

A big thank you to all the team, especially Kayleigh, who now leads our monthly sessions. We’re already looking forward to the next one!
