Here at St Winifreds Care Home, as autumn turns to winter, we’ve started to get prepared; we may not be able to go out into our gardens so much, but we can still enjoy them from our warm cosy Home, so we have been decorating all corners of our garden and making sure it all looks spick and span!
The leaves are falling and covering the grass with warm shades of orange, red and yellow. From bedrooms on the west side of St Georges you can look at the birds and squirrels access the bird table and enjoy the lovely ornaments underneath. On the north side of St Davids, you can look out to our decorated sheds with white and purple flowered trellis.
From the south of St Andrews, our residents can view our memory bench and dog sitting next to it and in the lounge of St Georges you can see the beautiful wooden summer seating area, with flowers around it, plus the duck going for a swim in our water table! If the weather turns warm, our chairs and tables are ready to be used for a sit and a chat.
We are getting ready to help the bugs with our new bug houses and hotels, which we’ve dotted around the gardens to support the wildlife.
Whether in our gardens, in their rooms or in the lounges, and from our dining room to the car park – the colours of winter are coming and so we’ll continue to brighten up our external gardens to bring joy to all who live and visit our Home.
Happy winter!
