St Winifreds Care Home hosts Mad Hatters Tea Party

Fridays at St Winifreds Care Home will never be the same after our ‘Mad Hatters Tea Party’ – what a ball we had!

It was an afternoon of games, fun and laughter followed by an amazing tea with delicious Victoria sponge cake lovingly made by our Head Chef Luke, plus lots of other tempting nibbles.

Our residents wore their costumes too; our gentleman all wore bow ties and the ladies wore feathers and feathered hats. Family members joined us too and enjoyed sharing the afternoon with their loved ones, building fantastic memories. As they made their way to the games area, they followed the playing cards and signs to be welcomed by brightly decorated tables with cards and delights awaiting them and our wonderful hosts, Julie (wearing her Mad Hatter’s hat) and Pippa.

We played card games ‘Higher and lower‘ and tested our residents’ and relatives’ knowledge with quizzes on the 1940s and 1950s. Ted sat with his friends and enjoyed the afternoon and Gaye wore her bright yellow outfit and a purple headdress, looking lovely as ever! Marion and Betty enjoyed the games and listening to the music, and we all had a wonderful afternoon with a great party atmosphere, company and food.

Thank you Julie and Pippa for hosting the afternoon and Luke for all those lovely cakes!
