The St Winifreds Games
On Friday 9 August we held our own summer Olympics here at St Winifreds Care Home, across all our communities. Even our residents who remain in their rooms got a chance to join in with the throwing games.
All the games were adapted so everyone could join in the fun whole-heartedly. What fun we had and great sportsmanship; we were all cheering each other on!
Our Olympic winners
Everyone worked so hard achieving their personal goals and everyone received a gold medal and a certificate for participation.
In each of our three communities in the Home, we had a gold and silver winner over all, on points, as well as special achievement cups for those who workedhard to achieve their goals.
In our St Davids community, both Peters received silver and gold and silver in recognition of their efforts.
In St Georges community, Brian received silver for nine points, and Gladys gold for 15 points, as well as recognition to David and Marion for great sportsmanship.
From our St Andrews community, Ron received silver and Reg gold for their achievements. Special recognition went to Connie and Gordon, with our Home Manger Tracy and Nurses helping to give out the awards.
