Easter eats
On Easter Saturday we held Winifred’s Pantry here at St Winifreds Care Home when our residents made delicious chocolate bird’s nest cakes
We broke up some shredded wheat and added melted chocolate. The mixture was then spooned into cupcake cases, and finished off with some tempting mini eggs, before being left to set.
Everyone was keen to try them out and tucked into them after our evening meal. They were a resounding success, and a fabulous Easter-themed treat!
Easter Sunday
We started Easter Sunday by watching the church service on television. Afterwards we were excited to deliver our Easter eggs to our ladies and gents. Everyone was delighted to received one; some couldn’t wait to eat theirs, others wanted to give them to family members. Our resident who is Gluten intolerant was very pleased to be given a special Gluten-free egg, and our residents who are on puréed meals were all given chocolate puddings as an alternative, so everyone felt included.
We finished the day off by watching family films on television, as everyone relaxed together. A thoroughly good Easter Day was had by all.
