Here at our Care Home in Deal, we are incredibly proud of our wonderful Songbirds choir, which has been running for four years. We have our very own songbook featuring 16 much-loved songs, including an old-fashioned Cockney knees-up, timeless Vera Lynn classics and favourites from the world of musical theatre.
We love singing along to every one of them and we’re always adding new tunes to our repertoire. Sometimes we even sing along to songs on the television, with the lyrics displayed across the screen.
Sunday afternoons are a special time for us to come together and enjoy music of all kinds. It’s a fantastic way to connect, share memories and experience how music has evolved over the years. With refreshments of tea and coffee, and ice lollies during the warmer weather, it’s no surprise that choir remains one of our favourite and most uplifting activities.
