Our Baking Club was in full swing on Friday 18 September here at our Care Home in Deal as our residents, loved ones and Recreation and Well-being Team came together to prepare, bake and decorate a delicious batch of cupcakes.
Everyone rolled up their sleeves, donned gloves, aprons and hairnets, and got stuck into every stage of the baking process. From carefully mixing the ingredients to icing the finished cakes, there was plenty of teamwork and creativity on display.
Team member John, along with our lovely residents Betty and Claire, paused for a quick photo before getting back to the task in hand. Sheila enjoyed mixing the ingredients, while Claire carefully helped to decorate the cupcakes with colourful icing. The finished cakes looked fantastic and, even better, they were ready to be enjoyed together over a well-earned cup of tea.
Baking sessions like these are a wonderful way to encourage social interaction, creativity and a sense of achievement, while bringing everyone together to enjoy a shared activity.
