Last week we held our popular Winifreds Pantry Baking Club with our residents here at St Winifreds Care Home.
Heather from our Recreation and Well-Being Team was very pleased to have the help of our Chef James who has kindly agreed to help on a regular basis, which will give us the opportunity to create some more delicious foods.
For this session we had eight residents taking part and also a relative who was pleased to join in. Walter decided he wanted to keep his knitted hat on, so his Chef’s hat was place on the top of it! David’s wife arrived during the Club and said she would stay with him as he looked as though he was enjoying himself.
We created some tempting traditional sweets which, although we have made them before, are very popular with our ladies and gents; peppermint creams, coconut ice and honeycomb chocolate fudge – what’s not to love?! Everyone had fun using the desiccated coconut, icing sugar and condensed milk.
