We were delighted to wish our lovely resident Lily a very happy special birthday, as she turned 100 here at St Winifreds Residential Care Home on Thursday 9 April.
Lily had a wonderful day, with a room crammed with wonderful balloons, flowers and cards, including a very special one from the Queen arriving on cue! There were tears and laughter with many emotions flowing on such a unique occasion.
Lily enjoyed sharing her day with residents and staff, and wearing a special celebratory crown, which really suited her!
Even during the lockdown and social distancing it was a great day and she was treated to a lovely birthday party with lots of presents and cards. We presented her with a special pink birthday cake and everyone enjoyed wishing her a very happy 100th birthday.
Lily managed to Skype with her family and requested chicken and chips for dinner, with a cup of tea!
