On Saturday 8 May we celebrated VE Day with a fun-filled programme at St Winifreds Care Home.
We welcomed the Swingtime Sweethearts to our Home to sing a medley of beautiful 40s music, which went down a treat. It was touching to see our residents waving their flags and singing along, some with tears in their eyes.
Our residents enjoyed tea and coffee served in china cups, with homemade shortbread, followed by a traditional lunch.
We made up a sweet trolley with classic penny sweets and enjoyed cherry Baileys, wine, ginger beer and ales.
Thank you to everybody involved in making the day so special for our residents; they had the most amazing day!
